Oats Khichdi is easy to make without putting any effort and is a solution to your meal when you don't have much time to cook . It is healthy and nutritious for your breakfast or lunch.
Ingredients :
- 1 cup dry roasted oats
- 1 cup chopped broccoli
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger
- 1/3 cup chopped green Capsicum (you can also take yellow and red Capsicum)
- 1/3 cup chopped beans
- 1/2 Cup chopped tomatoes
- 1 finely chopped green chilli
- 15-18 curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp black mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin seed
- 1 tbsp chana dal (split chickpeas)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Half lemon juice
- Salt as per needed
- Some chopped coriander leaves
- 3 cup hot water
- 1 tbsp oil
Method :
- Add oil, black mustard seeds and cumin seeds in a pan and let it split
- Then add ginger, green chilli , chana dal and curry leaves
- Saute it until chana dal turns golden brown at low flame
- Now, add broccoli , capsicum, peas, beans ,tomato, turmeric powder and coriander powder and saute for 1-2 minutes
- After that, add oats to it and again saute it for 5 mins
- Then add hot water and salt and cover it with a lid for 10 minutes at low flame
- Add cumin powder, black pepper powder, garam masala , lemon juice and coriander leaves to it and mix it well. If Khichdi is thick,add water to adjust the consistency according to you
- Your khichdi is ready . Serve it with curd or pickle
